3 months prior
  • Once completed and signed by all parties, the Training Agreement must be submitted for online validation by the internship host enterprise or organization in France, following the instructions on Service-Public.fr. Follow instructions: Faire viser une convention de stage de plus de 3 mois d'un ressortissant étranger (Service en ligne)
2 months prior
  • Receive validation of Training Agreement after online submission. Validation may take between XXX and XXX weeks. 
  • Complete the application for a Student Trainee visa online on the France-Visas platform
  • Make an appointment at a VFS Global Center to submit your long-stay visa application in person. 
1 and 1/2 months prior 
  • Attend VFS Global Center appointment and submit application for a long-stay Student Trainee visa in person, along with supporting documents. 
  • Processing of your visa application will take between 3-4 weeks from the date of submission.

Note: Campus France USA approval of an Etudes en France pre-consular application is not necessary for a Student Trainee visa application.
