Kevin Medansky completed a Masters in Theater Studies (concentration: Theater, Writings, and Representations) at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris.

For about six years of his life, Kevin Medansky regularly moved between the United States and France. While earning his Bachelor of Arts at Haverford College, he spent three summers in France: one volunteering on an organic farming cooperative northeast of Bordeaux, another studying classical and contemporary theatrical techniques in Avignon, and one as a publicity assistant for a theater company in the Festival d’Avignon. He also pursued a semester exchange in the theater and cinema departments of the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, which inspired him to return to Paris to complete his Master’s in Theater Studies. After, Kevin worked two years as the head of the Introductory French Program at the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, PA. Currently, he lives in Brooklyn, NY, and commence a new career in customer success at Wunderkind, an ecommerce marketing startup in Manhattan.

During his time in France, Kevin fell in love with France’s gastronomy, but not just the food. He loves each chef’s attention to detail in crafting long, slow-cooked meals, just as much as he appreciates taking a few hours off for a picnic with wine, cheese, fruits, and vegetables, along with plenty of bread and pastries. He can’t wait to return to Provence, to sip pastis under the sun, all while listening to one Georges Brassens tune after another, but for now, he’s still quite content sipping Parisian-style hot chocolate on cold, rainy days. One day, he’ll find just the right recipe for a galette de blé noir, but nothing will replace his memories of les machines de l’île in Nantes or les joutes nautiques in Dinan. Until then, he still has plenty more Julia Child recipes to whip up !
