The European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus program funds high-quality study programs at the Master’s level that are offered by a consortium of at least three European higher education institutions – and many of these consortia include French universities. They last one to two years and lead to a double or joint Master’s degree. Students have to study in at least two institutions, and the various programs cover almost all academic disciplines.

These programs also offer generous scholarships for international students that are open, of course, to students from the U.S.  The scholarships cover travel, living expenses and any tuition fees at the participating universities in Europe for the full duration of the course

Programs normally begin between August and November, depending on the usual starting date of the academic year in the countries concerned.

French universities participate in roughly 50 of the Erasmus Mundus Study Programs, either a coordinating or a partner university.
